Dewey Beach was incorporated in 1981. The Town is 22 blocks long (covering about 1.5 miles of beach front) and 2 blocks wide. Our winter population is estimated at 350, and our weekend summer population swells to around 30,000. GENERAL RULES: Parking permits are required from the Friday before Memorial Day to the Monday following Labor Day. Dogs must be licensed, and the custodian of the dog must clean up after the dog. Beach fires are allowed with a permit. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season, weather permitting. Bathers should check with lifeguard on surf conditions. Always swim near a lifeguard. Glass containers are prohibited on the beach. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the beach and public streets. There is a year round curfew for minors. Jay walking laws are strictly enforced. Disorderly houses and disorderly behavior are prohibited. PERMIT FEES: Seasonal Parking Permits Good on any vehicle $100.00 One Day Weekend Parking Permit Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Holidays $15.00 One Day Weekdays Parking Permit Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday $5.00 Two Day Weekend Parking Permit (Thursday Friday) (Friday Saturday) (Saturday Sunday) (Sunday Monday) $18.00 Two Day Weekdays Parking Permit Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday $8.00 Three Day Weekend Parking Permit Weekends and Holidays $20.00 Three Day Weekdays Parking Permit Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday $12.00 Weekly Parking Permits (Any consecutive 8 day period) $30.00 Dog License (Valid for the Dog's life) You must clean up after your dog.
